  16. Just how small is 33 square metres? It’s about 350 square feet, or the size of a studio apartment in The Janion, specially built for short-term rental use in #VictoriaBC.

    But a staff report to the City of Victoria is recommending that council consider allowing developers to build micro-units in new projects with minimum standards in place.

    It’s an effort to create more units in a tight housing market, says Mayor Marianne Alto.

    Alto says the report will come before council at its next meeting and, if approved, would have to be incorporated into the city’s official community plan.
