This is a guess, but my modest little home #network was back to trapping bad #DNS #referrers in under 10 minutes.
This is precisely why I've always suggested that #spare #hardware is a reasonable way to get critical systems back up and running quickly, presuming you can afford the cost to buy the replacement parts.
It may take a while to disect the failed box for answers about its demise... but this $100-ish investment was well worth it for me.
