Segun un medio de #EEUU, SMIC habria sido capaz de modificar una version antigua de alguno de los aparatos que le vendio la gigante holandesa antes de que se impusieran las restricciones, por lo que esto en si se podria considerar un salto del desarrollo cualitativo y seria la prueba definitiva de que en la practica las sanciones en este nivel conseguido ya no tendrian efecto.
La misma publicacion afirmo, que habrian pruebas de que SMIC ya seria capaz incluso de lograr #chips aun mas veloces y de mejores prestaciones incluso llegando a la siguiente escala, la de 4nm, es decir, sera cuestion de meses hasta que las empresas de #China, probablemente de la mano de la propia #Huawei nos venga a presentar un nuevo modelo de movil con un chip de estas caracteristicas.
Esto se suma a otro de los traumas de Los Esclavos Unidos... por estos dias, Huawei llevo adelante un mega-evento presentando y lanzando a nivel global una version hasta 10 veces mas economica, pero con capacidades muy similares a la de la red 5G, llamada #RedCap, dejando claro que con este golpe sobre la mesa, el gigante asiatico no va a soltar el liderazgo en este mercado.
De acuerdo a lo informado en este encuentro en Dubai, esta version mas liviana del 5G es ligeramente mas lenta, pero mejora dramaticamente aspectos que hacen del 5G inalcanzable para gran parte de las empresas... casi todo el hardware compatible es hasta 10 veces mas economico, mejorando ademas sus capacidades en otras areas.
De esta manera Huawei vuelve a dar otro golpe a la competencia americana en este sector. -

Anyone have experience w/ Open Data Kit + #RedCap? We use #ODK but considering a switch. Adopted ODK for support running same survey in multiple languages. Now REDCap has this. Wonder if REDCap would be easier for users to design + summarize complex surveys. Considering:
- Server maintenance effort
- Switching and retraining effort
- Offline tablet collection in field w GPS, audio/images
- Paper fall-back
- Security/privacy admin
- Full API control, good #RStats client for automated pipelines -

I'm just glad nothing broke off. He's a single-piece casting, so that would have been kind of bad.I work on my #miniatures while standing at my bedroom mantel, and have all my work-in-progress stuff sitting on the mantelpiece. This #redcap is not the first #miniature I've knocked off.
The previous two I knocked off were a multi-part #ReaperMiniatures goat demon (SKU 14395) and #DGSGames Rebel Maiden (SKU 121006), both of which separated back into multiple parts.

I didn't work much on any #miniatures in the last month but I'm back to work on my #CrookedDice #redcap #miniature now.
I painted on him a few days ago; did some edge highlights, painted his eyes and eyebrows, and teeth.
Yesterday I knocked him off my mantelpeice. The fall bent his axe, and chipped the paint on the axe, on his nose, and on his red cap. The axe bent back easily enough and I think as of now I have all his paint injuries repaired.
