Yes and no, we meant decentralised as compared to the legacy offerings.

The way Master'don will trend is back torwards #reCentralisation, because of the #contentDelivery issue.

iwrc, some instances don't try to serve all content and #hotLink(?) to the originating instance, but that has issues too, incl. #privacy.

That's why we suggest servers play a #conductor's role. With a #glutPlug they'd hotlink to I2P hosted content served by fedizens who boosted it.

Nice! Our understanding is yes, you are right to want to setup an alternative. Internet Archive is in trouble at the network level, due to overload. Gitlab is Cloud(G)lare (aka Cloud(F)lare).

Last week we discovered just how demanding Mastodon itself is on servers. We have reason to believe it's so demanding that its having a re-centralisation effect on the social network. So we wonder how #BloatFE handles Castopod. Bloat Front-End doesn't require js.

    #reCentralisation

  6. Since Bluesky is getting big name Twitter users instead of Mastodon, I guess the founders started to panic a little bit. I’m not sure how this will help to boost Mastodon, but it definitely has to be something more than just give the new user a popular instance to begin with. To be honest, everything has a learning curve that comes with it. We learned to use Twitter as well. It’s just that nobody remembers anymore. eupolicy.social/@1br0wn/110294
