    The Quick Drought Response Index (QuickDRI) is intended to complement the Vegetation Drought Response Index (VegDRI at vegdri.unl.edu/). QuickDRI was designed to detect the effects of drought at time intervals of a month or less.

    QuickDRI shows driest conditions in parts of the Western U.S. and the wettest in the Deep South.

    #QuickDRI detects the effects of #drought at time intervals of a month or less and represents a drought "alarm" indicator of emerging or rapidly changing drought conditions. Areas are drier relative to the historical average in Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, Nebraska, Arizona, and Washington.

    #QuickDRI looks at vegetative #drought indicators over a short (1-month) timeframe to show the degree of environmental stress. Areas experiencing the most stress appear to be #WestVirginia and parts of #Ohio, West Texas and New Mexico.
