This is an experimental service to monitor QFD warnings. The feed is updated every 5 minutes.
Q: Where does the data come from?
A: QFD publishes both RSS and CAP-AU feed links at https://www.fire.qld.gov.au/Current-Incidents -- CAP-AU is a XML alert format.Q: What hashtags are used?
A: This bot will use the #BushfireWarning for all alerts, and will use a maidenhead grid locator so people can instead subscribe for a given area. Use https://k7fry.com/grid/ to figure out a grid square of interest (only the first 4 characters are used), then go to that hash tag (e.g. #qg55) and subscribe to it. Additional tags may be extracted from the "headline" of the alert, including the locations affected (e.g. #SouthwoodQld) and the type of alert (e.g. #StayInformed)Q: How long are posts kept?
A: Posts are deleted after approximately one week.Q: Who is running this?
A: See @stuartl -
