Loving https://lambdalabs.com/ so far.
I am tempted to use it to transcribe all of PyCon Italia 2023's videos and add the transcript to the page, where the video is: https://2023.pycon.it/keynotes/open-source-for-the-long-haul
But I wonder if people would find it helpful. Maybe YouTube's transcript is enough and better?

Yay, the edited @pycon🇮🇹 videos are out!
This is the talk of mine that I'm happiest with in the last couple of years, by a significant margin.
It's also the one that I got the kindest and nicest individual bit of feedback on, when @carlton came up afterwards and said that it was "insightful and well delivered and entertaining — and it was also true."

Good news! The PyCon Italia 2023 videos are now available online!
Catch up on that talk you missed or share them with your co-workers! 📺

Listening to @carlton talk OSS contribution and this point about it being a bonus for all, especially people looking to get into a job really resonates.
I always go looking through github profiles when they're on a CV. That's way more valuable to me than some qualifications.

I just realised you can watch my @pycon keynote, “Open Source for the long haul” from the live stream ⭐️
The awesome @kushal described it as “Must Watch”, which is very humbling 🥰
It starts here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUmolZkWQIg&t=2106s #python #pyconit2023

I'm curious, a week after #PyConIT2023, how are we doing in the conference flu department? 800+ attendees, rooms packed, mask mandate inside, mingling/networking spaces outside at the conference venue, conference dinner at another outside venue off-site — how did it go? If you attended, can you complete the sentence below?
"I attended @pycon🇮🇹 and I _______ afterwards."

Random thought: I do a lot of talks, and it very rarely happens that one goes *really* well, to the point where I am unequivocally happy about it.
Last week's #PyConIT2023 talk was one such talk, and I'll be mighty proud when the recording is up and I can share it.
(And @pycon🇮🇹 is an absolutely delightful conference. I may have mentioned this before but I am happy to repeat myself.)

Thanks to everyone who joined us at PyCon Italia (in person and remote!) ❤️ We hope you had an amazing #PyConIT2023 🐍✨
See you next year in Florence! 👋

My best take away from @pycon has been a lovely conversation I had with @danielfeldroy and @aroygreenfeld over one of the conference lunches.
I was inspired to do better and to try harder.
Thank you folks 🙏

Happy with the fact that I picked a hotel on the other side of the city centre for #PyConIT2023, and thus built a decent walk into my schedule every day.
In aggregate (conference commute, organised city tour, solo exploration, and general walking about) I walked 43 kilometres across Florence, in 4 days.

Home from #PyConIT2023. Rather than being exhausted from sitting in a cramped plane seat for hours and being inclined to keel over immediately after arriving, I am perfectly rested and looking forward to the day ahead of me.
Sleeper trains are lovely.

Final #PyConIT2023 achievement unlocked, family souvenirs sorted: acquired 2 solid chunks of pecorino toscano, 1 salame toscano, 2 bottles of wine, and a bag of cantucci. Boarded train with precisely zero security theater.
Grazie a tutti, @pycon🇮🇹! Alla prossima. ♥️

Thanks @danielfeldroy for the lovely octopus 🥰
I named her Pina (short for Polipina, which is the Italian name for a small octopus 🐙)
I sent the picture to my wife and she already loves it!
