Here's another surprise. Klee reported that the assistant coach Mira Jalosuo, who is queer, made the pick. But it wasn't Jalosuo... It apparently was the mayor of St Paul, Melvin Carter.

Another great article from Hockey News about the fiasco from last night’s 2nd #PWHL draft. A video is embedded in which Klee clearly shows his ignorance about what is meant by “the community” and affirming simply that he was going after “the best players” without regard for who gets hurt by the selection.

It sucks that this happened in front of Billie Jean King and her wife Ilana Kloss. It sucks that it happened at all.

I was watching a video from a news broadcast about Minnesota winning the championship cup. They put up a screenshot of a post from the St Paul mayor that simply said:

This article interviews young girls who have "played for a couple years" (!), and there's also this bit of information, which I had been wondering about since the weekend:

"Team names are possible, but nothing is settled and no new teams will be announced."

I was hoping there'd be expansion next season, but it doesn't sound like it will happen. Team names, OTOH, just might.
