CW: running, potential smugness
@clathrin Four times slower, but 900 metres of elevation gain. Rewarding, with spectacular views of the valleys around Puigmal mountain (2,909m) in the Catalan Pyrenees. Ascent from the idyllic Nuria valley, and an amusing, albeit dangerous, descent on loose scree that felt like skiing. Boot soles got hot.
Saw marmots, horses, prey birds, mountain goats (isards: Rupicapra pyrenaica) and bumblebees!
