Conservative #protestants believe that liberal Protestants believe that anything goes theologically and sin is okay. Liberal Protestants believe that conservatives are too much in bed with the #GOP and have forgotten #Jesus ' command to love one another in a sea of #oldtestament legalism. I just want to find a #church that studies the #bible, does acts of #charity in the community, and won't kill me for believing in #evolution or that #lgbt people deserve love not hate. Is this possible?

Dzielnica protestancka najlepiej oddaje charakter dawnego Węgrowa. Dalej jest tam wiele drewnianych domów, kiedyś typowych dla miast wschodniej Polski. Niezwykle ciekawy jest stary kościół z XVII wieku. Kalwińska wspólnota miała wznieść budowlę w ciągu 1 doby. O dziwo dalej stoi, co świadczy o polskiej trwałości prowizorki 😉
Potem kościół trafił w ręce luteran i był parafią dla Warszawy aż do zbudowania kościoła św. Trójcy! To do Węgrowa jeździło się na ewangelickie śluby.
Na cmentarzu łatwo zauważyć kilka barokowych płyt nagrobnych. To pamiątki po szkockich prezbiterianach — uchodźcach z kraju z czasów wojen religijnych.
A przecież jest w Węgrowie jeszcze starsza historia arian z XVI wieku! To w tym mieścia miał umrzeć profesor chłopskiego pochodzenia — Piotr Giezka z Goniądza.
Także Węgrów zdaje się być mazowiecką stolicą protestantyzmu.

It seems that in spite of our high view of #scripture many #protestants simply ignore this verse. “I can just go to Jesus and be forgiven” is the common retort. And yet Scripture tells us to confess to one another and pray for the other’s healing from sin.

The #Anglican, #Catholic, and #Orthodox traditions are being more wholly faithful to Scripture when they encourage the faithful to go to #confession .
