Dumb life hack: for your project notes and scribbles and notes to yourself while building/designing stuff, stop using regular spiral-bound notebooks [1].

Instead, buy *stenographer's* notebooks. These have the spiral binding across the top of the page - so it never gets in the way while you're writing / drawing (even if you're left-handed!).

I switched recently and ... wow, for such a tiny thing, it's a big quality-of-life improvement.

They're available with various line patterns etc. One common useful type is the usual horizontal lines, but with a vertical dividing line down the middle of the page. Handy for so much!

[1] I really hope you're not using tear-off "perfect binding" pads.
