@baldur Klarna did the same thing, and found out.
But the devil is in the details: Instead of hiring back the people they laid off, they subcontracted the jobs. So people raplacing them aren’t hired as full-time employees.
I think this was broken AI will be used for: ”AI” companies will actually become fronts for telepresence subcontracting. They’ll hire people for worse terms, while the other pretends to get ”AI”.
The #precariate will get larger, and careers will not be available.
