#Mitochondrial genes are often used to test for #positiveSelection on #energetics, but do the stories supported by #dN/dS ratios hold up? Zwonitzer et al. reexamined seven case studies and found evidence for positive and relaxed #selection, but not always according to the previous hypotheses.
