As with many things Trump says, it's carnival barker bs and just downright disturbing and ignorant. That someone who speaks like this isn't automatically panned by half the country speaks to the character of the average American, and not in a good way.
Besides it is still #politicalBS because:

We lack some details, like where exactly the various bullets ended up, aside from in people behind Trump on the side of the podium. Which suggests the shooter aimed sufficiently that none hit the floor to cause any shrapnel.
