Totally a translation hack of Pokemon Green. Totally.
EDIT: Didn't notice I had the wrong color palette loaded when I took the initial screenshot. Changed it to the Blue one so it would actually reflect what it looks like on an actual GBC and GBA (which I did confirm).

Back to the English bootleg translation of Pokemon Green for now. A rather unfortunate translation and an unfortunate spacing error. Or maybe I just have a dirty mind.
Some other stuff of note, Nidoran M and F have the exact same name, as is common in bootleg translations. Status effects seem to be written out in full (at least paralysis is) which is interesting.

All the in-battle menus are larger. Most of the Chinese translation hacks of Pokemon probably could have benefited from something like this.

I've been sidetracked by yet another bootleg English translation, this time of Pokemon Green. This one was dumped from a multicart on BGC.
I haven't actually gone past the first battle but I've read this is the Pidgey -> Bobo translation. Since it's actually a translation of Green (instead of a hack of Red/Blue) I can only assume this was one of those "get ahead of the official translation" kind of bootlegs.
Perhaps one day I shall find my own physical copy.

Yesterday I picked up a boxed copy of Pokémon Green. I called the store in advance to see if they had a copy, and they confirmed that they didn't. However, once I reached the store, we discovered one hidden under a pile of other Japanese Pokémon games.
It was £35, doesn't have it's map, and isn't in the best of condition. But I don't think it's a terrible deal. What do you think?
