what do you call when you recall
only as you’re reminded of something?
instead of photographic memory
it’s reactive as if to seeing a photograph
ah yes, that seems familiar

Poking through
wild rosebush’s thorns,
by winter’s remnants
still adorned,
gold velvet
of a magnolia’s buds
gives way to
royal purple in floods.
