Limbus

Tree trunk, stripped bare.
Crossbar, damp air.
Black clouds, crows caw,
perched on nails — gone.

A sign, four words.
No voice is heard.
Cramped cave, stone bed
where herbs lay — bled.

Long wait, dark night.
No candles burn bright.
Hinted return.
But silence — burns.

The throneroom
A #poem

She stood upon the beach’s stone
the wind and waves a-waxing within
I saw it was her natural throne
beneath the blue sky’s baldaquin
Behind, a white cliff walls her keep,
attended by seagulls as her knights
with seaweed’s red carpet from the deeps:
the throneroom’s crowned in golden light
There’s none more noble than nature’s friend
who all Creation’s glory defends
