Sepulcrum

Bones interred in a rotunda made of ivy-cloaked stone
where a chipped statue sits in the dusk on her stained throne.

Limbus

Tree trunk, stripped bare.
Crossbar, damp air.
Black clouds, crows caw,
perched on nails — gone.

A sign, four words.
No voice is heard.
Cramped cave, stone bed
where herbs lay — bled.

Long wait, dark night.
No candles burn bright.
Hinted return.
But silence — burns.
