Some green #algae can conduct anaerobic respiration in a dark and O2 deprived environment. What is so fascinating about this? Unlike yeasts that have to rely on substrates, like grape juice and rice, for making ethanol, algae create their own carbohydrates by photosynthesis. They use their own sugar to create ethanol which can be used as biofuel or wine.
