One of the patents relating to the Burroughs Panaplex(tm) flat panel segmented gas discharge (plasma) display is US 3,725,713, issued 1973-04-03, based on continuations of applications dating back to 1970-11-09.
A later development was the SELF-SCAN(tm) flat panel dot matrix gas discharge display, and some patents relevant to that are US 3,886,389, US 3,975,725, and US 4,386,348.
