Creating Musical Experiences with Plants: Concert Design and Live Mediation in Plant-Based Performance [html, epub, pdf, xml 14pp] #sonification #PlantMusic #biosignals #OrganicAleatorics #electrophysiology https://www.mdpi.com/2076-0752/15/10/235
There was a person on the gardening programme who connects clips to plants to read the electrical signals that go on inside the plant. He then translates the signals to musical notes so the plant 'plays' music. But he has to choose the digital instrument the plant plays and also the musical key.
That amount of human intervention tells me the plant music is just nonsense and I imagine some instruments sounding a lot less ethereal and giving a very different impression.
Now I'm thinking what it would be like to give a load of plant drum machines to play. Imagine being blasted from all sides by insane drumming from plants!

I'm thinking of getting a Plant Wave, after hearing music made from plants by the Data Garden Quartet years ago and backing Midi Sprout on Kickstarter (although I didn’t get it). Plant Wave converts plant biofeedback into musical notes so you can hear to what a cactus or a tomato sounds like or listen to a plant grow. Curious to know if anyone here has actually used one.

Woke up with this #song in my head today entitled: #noClue
Guess it's as good a day as any to release it.
Only got permission to put it on Mastodon so no #mirloMondays.
No #artiphon #orba for once either...
Lyrics and vocals by Christina
Production and most keys & all guitar by Mason from #kpl #kitchener public #library
Where at city hall they recorded some 3h of the background #plantMusic
After that it took Mason only 90 minutes to record and edit the song in #LogicPro, which Mason taught an intro to this month.
Synopsis: duck the low end #eq, then add #compression, then adjust the mid&high end.

#kitchenerPublicLibrary held it's 5th #PlantMusic session today (a first for me, although my long ago science fair project was measuring the electricity produced by fruits: )
