Today is Rare Disease Day.

I've got two of those. :catjam:

First is familial hypercholesterolemia. This is not your run--of-the-mill hypercholesterolemia. No. This cannot be just treated with diet and exercise. Even the statins aren't great at treating it. The state of the art is a PCSK9 inhibitor. This, this does wonders.

Then, there's the PCNS lymphoma. Lymphomas are already considered rare. The PCNS form is even rarer. I'm over 5 years in remission and doing fine.

May we eradicate all diseases, from the commonest to the rarest.

I just saw the report from the brain MRI I got last Sunday. It opens with:

"Stable examination. No evidence of residual or recurrent lymphoma."

That's what I wanna read. :catjam:

I told baby girl about being a cancer survivor.

I was worried for a bit, because there was a coincidental lull in the chat. 😬

She took it well, like just about all the young folks I match with on the dating apps.

I think the 40 and older crowd just has not realized that cancer treatment has advanced tremendously since their youth. They are the ones usually put off by the fact that I am a cancer survivor.

I can say the same about my boyfriend. He's been unfazed by me being a cancer survivor.

Don't tell me the youngsters are not an optimistic bunch. 😂

PS: OMFG! Her best friend has a non-Hodgkin's lymphoma!!!! My PCNS lymphoma is non-Hodgkin's. :surprised_pikachu:
