Richard Ward notes that Jesus presses the rich young ruler (Matt 19:18) on laws about your neighbor. Obedience includes faith, hope, and love, but we often fail at love.
Are we failing here? Then our theologies of repentance and “be killing sin” need a major rewrite. Or would we all eventually have to seek shelter in grace, and say, “Nothing in my hands I bring, simply to thy cross I cling”?
