Scarecrow: bi icon. #ozathon24 #PatchworkGirlOfOz

p. 240. Jack, Ojo and the Scarecrow are discussing how much liquid a gill holds.
(It's four fluid ounces)

Scraps gives Ozma what for. #ozathon24 #PatchworkGirlOfOz

p. 187. Bill has hatched out 13 new chicks. The guard at the gate estimates she's hatched about 7,000 chicks since moving to Oz.
Assuming equal time between books and story, Bill's been in Oz for about six years. Further assuming that the magic of Oz that keeps people healthy has done the same for her, we can assume she's still able to lay at her prime rate... around 250 a year.
250x6=1500. The other 5500 would have to be grandkids she's hatched. Or numeracy isn't a thing in Oz.

p. 129: It's illegal to pick six leaf clovers. (Why aren't I surprised?)
-
p. 62: Things needed to fix the situation:
1) a six leaf clover from the Emerald City
2) The left wing of a yellow butterfly from the land of the Winkies
3) Water in a gold bottle from a well that has never seen the light of day
4) Three hairs from a woozy's tail
5) A drop of oil from a live man's body(these types of laundry list quests make my head ache)

p. 57. Meanwhile the powder of life has fallen on the phonograph. #ozathon24 #PatchworkGirlOfOz

p. 56: Dr. Pipt is careless with his dangerous items. So now Dame Margolotte and Unc Nunkie are now turned to marble (the fate Tip was threatened with).
-
p. 40 It takes six years to make the power of life. Four large cauldrons render down to a saucer's worth of white powder.
-
p. 32 Dame Margolotte has made a patchwork girl to be her servant in the house because their home is too remote to lure any willing workers. The quilt is of many colors and belonged to the woman's grandmother. Since then Munchkin land has gotten rather obsessed with blue to the point of food, plants, etc. all being shades of blue. This wasn't the case in #TheWizardOfOz ... although blue was the preferred color for clothing.
The quilt could imply a time earlier where even clothing wasn't exclusively blue or that grandma was isakaied liked Dorothy and her family just many years earlier.
