Parcels covering Kavinsky's "Nightcall" live in Poland, and it's one of those covers that doesn't try to out-synth the original — it just runs the song through five people who can actually play, live, at once, under a stage lit teal like a Drive poster. The vocal harmonies do the heavy lifting Kavinsky's vocoder used to do, and the band lets the groove breathe instead of chasing the studio version note for note.
If you like Kavinsky and Parcels, you are in for a commemorative treat.

The EU introduces a €3 customs charge on small parcels to curb cheap Chinese imports.
Parcels of goods worth under €150 will no longer enjoy ‘de minimis’ exemption, exploited by platforms such as Temu and Shein.

Tonight: when a friend asks you to be their dance partner at the Parcels show, hard to say no. Very fun show, actually! Band was quite good, lots of good songs, bordered on the serious cheese at times, a few too many "make some noise, NYC!" for my taste, but I think the enthusiasm was genuine. Sound was all over the place, at various times evoking Daft Punk, The Slip (seriously!), Backstreet Boys, and more. Gorgeous mid-autumn night for outdoors music in Queens.

What's the tax change for parcels being sent to the US?
From today, a long-standing tax-free allowance from the United States for parcel contents valued at less than $800 (€685) being posted from Europe is ending.
The only exceptions are smaller letters, documents, and parcels containing gifts worth under $100 (€85).
Anyone based in the US receiving a package via post above that value will have to pay a tariff.
