“Guess what day it is!!?? The greatest day of the year… Superb Owl Day! 🦉

A day dedicated to admiring owl photos and pretending nothing else important is happening.

Oh wait … it’s also the Super Bowl.

But let’s be honest — Superb Owl Day is clearly the more important event.” - Nicole Seward

“A nice day here in Iowa when you can find and photography a Snowy Owl that is visiting from the north. These beautiful creatures come down from the Arctic and Canada to find food during their harsh winters. They are a challenge to find especially when there is snow on the ground here but in this case it was our lucky day to find her.” - Tim Brandenburg

  16. A pair of snowy owls have settled on Chicago’s shoreline near the Montrose Pier. For the protection of wildlife in the area, the Chicago Park District is temporarily closing access to the Montrose Pier.

These birds have traveled all the way from the Arctic and are considered vulnerable due to their population decreasing. Help give the owls a warm welcome to Chicago by giving them space. Please stay a minimum of 300 feet away from snowy owls. - Chicago Park District
