Das Tool soll GTFS-Fahrpläne zuverlässig in #OSRD importieren (ggf. auch Export) und langfristig als Komponente in OSRD integrierbar sein. Zusammenarbeit mit dem OSRD-Team (FR).Zeitraum: ab sofort – Mitte November, Aufwand nach Abstimmung.

It's amazing how this community has come together in recent years from various fragmented/local efforts and across roles and organizations. Unsurprisingly we can achieve a lot more when we collaborate.
A bunch of things seen as "normal" today (such as #Transitous) I would have considered entirely out of reach not too long ago. And this is all still just at the beginning.

I’m changing my mind: the European Commission is right to use the term ”single ticket” in relation to the Passenger Package regulation.
Hear me out. This is coming after some reflection on all the great conversations at #OpenTransport2026, especially with @q et al and their work on a new barcode standard.

It's interesting to observe how the focus of the opened transport crowd has shifted from sophisticated scraping to educating about EU data publishing mandates and reporting non-conforming railway operators. And I think this is a great indicator of how quickly we're making progress on getting official data published. We're losing our more technology oriented roots, but it's for the better, because it helps everyone.

#OpenTransport2026 was one of the highlights of the year again! I'm so glad that I was able to participate. It's the perfect environment for endlessly curious individuals, everyone is so happy to explain their passion projects. Lots of new connections have been made and I've gotten a lot closer with some of the people I met last year. ❤️

Some will probably write a more technical blog post after we're all back home from #OpenTransport2026 and while I did take part in technical conversations and exchanged a lot, I'm moved by this community. Even though I'm an introvert, I feel like at home. So to the people with whom we took a picture of each other taking a picture of each other (taking a picture of each other…), to the organisers, and the whole community: Thank You! It was another great OTCC.

When presenting today at #OpenTransport2026 about the GTFS Binary format, hearing myself, I thought for a moment: huh, it might indeed be something useful! Noticed some people typing down the website gtb.osmz.ee from the slides, where I've added Switzerland feeds as well.
And the response to the Ticketing guides, which started as a part of the format, but looks to grow it over, was also exciting. So glad I came.

Sad to be missing #OpenTransport2026 - it was super last year! But I’m still not 100% healthy after Innotrans & Connecting Europe Days, so best for everyone I stay away!

Productive two days at the #OpenTransport2026 hack days. Stops can be bookmarked, updated, or removed from favourites in a way that doesn't rely on IDs that could change. And with filtering by route.

Walked around Bern today not knowing when my tram arrives because of a stupid bug in the binary packer I've just fixed.
Well, actually every stop had a screen, so I did know. But not _before_ reaching the stop! But they arrive every six minutes during the daytime, so not a big deal. But I've only learned about the frequency when had to wait four minutes, got bored and started reading timetables.

Having established that I may or may not have crossed the border into Switzerland depending on your definition of “crossed”, and, for that matter, “border” - see https://social.tchncs.de/@partim/117390528168747115 - I have made my way to my hotel, which is distinctly in Germany.
Tomorrow I shall attempt early morning onwards travel to Bern, for the first day of #OpenTransport2026

I was considering how to best (read: somewhat affordably) get around Bern during #OpenTransport2026, given that the venue is a bit outside the centre, but turns out you get free public transport in the city with a hotel stay.
They even send the activation link to you early, so you can use the ticket for getting to the hotel if necessary.
