Got my #openEPaperLink spaghetti AP up and running and finally pushed some data to my ESL tags today! Just a weather forecast for now (that’s built in to the AP firmware, and easy to do). More fun to come once I get a few more ESL devices to play with.

I wanted to get into #OpenEPaperLink myself, but no ESLs* available here in Germany for a reasonable price, but I found some #Pricer ones. But they are controlled by IR. Luckily, @furrtek sells an IR sender for these ESLs. Let's see how it'll work. If it does, I'll try to port it to #Rust to be used with an #ESP32.

*ESLs: Electronic Shelf Labels: 1-2" #ePaper displays to display pricing info in stores. They are attractive, as the cost 1-2€/pcs used.

Mein #homeserver nach dem Einzug. Die Frittenkiste bekommt aktuell Gast-WLAN vom Mieter oben. Hauptsache #homeassistant , mein #zigbee Netz und #openepaperlink funktionieren schon mal.

Ich würde gerne ein #Home-Inventory (gerade von Schubladen) haben (self-hosted, idealerweise Open-Source), mit Anbindung an #HomeAssistant und/oder #OpenEpaperLink. #HomeBox wurde vor einem halben Jahr archiviert, kennt jemand Alternativen?

Got a cold and have too much time at home, so I finally started flashing the #OpenEPaperLink price tags. That was some challenge on its own, but I have a process and a janky programmer. Ordered some new CR2450 batteries and even sorted the entangled lanyards.

Thanks to the Community around the OpenEPaperLink they're all back working now! 🎉

Does anyone who played around with the openepaperlink pricetags have any idea why I get this random things on the sides? They are really similar on different tags but I don't have an idea where the origin of the wrong data could be...

Help or a hint into the right direction would be appreciated. AP is a NanoAP with an esp32s2.

EDIT: Thanks for the hint, I've joined the discord and will try to monitor when i get a fix / downgrade to a lower version.

I'm having a "productive" evening making my new battery-powered ePaper displays work with HomeAssistant. It's a very cool technology, even with its limitations - slow refresh, screen relatively low resolution compared to an ereader. I do like the red accent colour though!
