I’ve recently come across this quote and being in my forties, I can very much relate to it.
In fact I wonder if becoming an Old Man Yelling at Cloud is the natural way of things, or is there anything I can do against disagreeing with most of the contemporary and future “developments”.

I am probably old fashioned, but running into an open source commandline tool written in C that "requires" meson and ninja to build, in order to accomplish the equivalent of...
$ gcc -o tool main.c -lone -ltwo
...seems like maybe just a bit of overkill to me.
(In case anyone was curious, I did not end up installing ninja and meson in order to build this tool.)

Before you are waiting for Xcode debugger to attach, you can wait for shared cache symbols being copied. After that you can simply wait for dubugger to (very) slowly jump from line to line while contemplating state of things before and after Swift.

Bloggers who self-proclaimed themselves journalists, but who were under no compulsion to uphold journalistic standards, were a problem. Then "real" journalists couldn't compete so they became just as bad and now we have Fox News and MSNBC.
Then there was the rise of influencers that are celebrities who are famous for nothing but being famous.
The internet gave everyone a voice. Now how do we get everyone to shut the hell up?
