Sometimes I get nostalgic for that period of time in the 90s where genius marketing consisted of slapping a "2000" after every brand or product name. I especially fondly remember an antiques store near where I lived at the time. It was called "Antiek 2000" (Antiques 2000) and nothing has ever topped that.

For the last couple of years they have been building a new bridge ("The Riverview Bridge" in the local indigenous language: «stal̕əw̓asəm») to replace the old Patullo bridge over the Fraser River.
Yesterday walking around the city got this glance of both together...

From 2017...I found the sunlight reflected off the adjacent skyscraper made for an interesting effect on the plaza trees. The antique buildings built in the late 1800s are overshadowed by the new glass walls and layers of windows in downtown Denver. The Methodist church off to the right is being surrounded by towers of Mammon taller than its spire. The Brown Palace (still a deluxe hotel with a spa) is fortunately a triangular building on the wedge street corner, so it is merely backed by the modern. The building behind the plaza wall is pretty well blending into the background. The plaza and fence are part of the Key Bank on Broadway, Court and 17th streets.
