Thank you so much for setting up #KpopMonday once again. It's a treat I look forward to every week.
I have a love hate relationship with "Number Nine". On the one hand, I can't bear the electronic instrumental that introduces the song proper and and which can also be heard midway and at the conclusion; it reminds me of a slapstick comedy soundtrack and I just wish it wasn't there. Nor am I a fan of "I'm addict, I'm addict, I'm addict".
On the other hand, I love both verse and chorus; in fact, as hear the chorus vocals kick in , I feel I am listening to old school Kpop at its best. Everybody looks appealing in the MV, even if I cannot make complete sense of what they are doing. As for the significance of the number nine itself -- that remains a mystery to me, but I am not bothered or frustrated by that.
