As trailed last week, the #NRLgf was sorted out and went north after a great second half by the #Broncos. This leaves #Brisbane atop the end-season Elo ratings in the #NRL for the first time in a good few years (research pending...).

It also gives us a chance to refresh the roller-coaster chart of the last few years for Brisbane. How quickly things can change!

#NRLgf Grand Final happening this weekend. Here are the final season Elo ratings in the #NRL for all teams except the top two, who will both change ratings after the final.

Going by our Elo-adjacent ratings, #Melbourne have a 56% chance, that seems to be borne out by them being bookies' favourites at around 6/4 on. #Brisbane are at evens. So you're getting done over either way, but then you knew that anyway. #rugbyleague

Congrats to Penrith, what a record. Despite losing to Melbourne twice in the season they arm wrestled their way to victory tonight nullifying Hughes and Munster, forcing Melbourne to only play defense, with almost no way to attack. Keeping Penrith to just 14 points was a hell of an effort though, they dominated every aspect of the game. Hell of a Grand Final. Proud of the Storm regardless, what a year it’s been.

What an intense first half of the #NRLGrandFinal. Penrith clearly dominating and if they were playing any other team they might have scored four or more tries. Their attacks have been relentless forcing so many more tackles from the Storm and limiting their movements. The 10-6 score line in Penrith’s favor reflects the toughness of the game. Melbourne looks spent already. We’ll see in the second half now

Incredible match, absolutely worthy of a Grand Final. That second half swung one way then the other. The amount of pressure #Penrith dumped on the #Broncos defence to turn the game around after looking dead on their feet was fantastic. Brilliant match to watch.
