  1. CW: Notes of Autumn - potentially spoilery I guess

Just finished watching Notes of Autumn. Predictable but sweet. Luke Mcfarlane kept me invested. I don't recall seeing Peter Porte in anything before but I'll watch for him in the future.

I was invested enough that I kept yelling "kiss him you idiot" at the screen.
    😂😉❤️

  2. OK, so the title of the fun Hallmark film Notes of Autumn has multiple meanings, which is actually kinda great.

    • The Ashley Williams character is a former concert pianist, so Notes are musical notes.
    • The Luke Macfarlane character is a novelist, so Notes are written notes.
    • The amateur string quarter is learning Vivaldi’s “Autumn”, so it’s actually Notes of “Autumn”.
    • Ashley and Luke swap houses, so Ashley meets Luke’s hunky next door neighbor, and Luke meets Ashley’s hot chef friend. Luke leaves detailed bullet-point Notes for Ashley, but Ashley only leaves dashed-off post-it Notes.
    • The Peter Porte character is a chef who can’t decide what kind of cuisine to make for the restaurant he wants to open — until Luke inspires him to follow his heart. There’s a farmer’s market scene where Peter gets reluctant eater Luke to taste the Notes of flavor in intriguing ingredients.
    • Ashley falls for a hunky tour guide who specializes in fall leaves, I guess. No notes.

  3. Actually this was incredibly charming, and much better than it had any right being. Tina and I reacted anytime someone said autumn or fall, and we kept pointing out anything fall-themed in the decor. The one surprising omission: where was the apple cider?

Also, one of the producers was Debbie Gibson herself.

  4. So yesterday was the premiere of a new fall-themed Hallmark movie called Notes of Autumn that stars one of their stars Ashley Williams, and it looks like Luke Macfarlane gets a gay romance of his own with Peter Porte.

Over the last few years, we’ve watched every gay and lesbian holiday movie from Hallmark, Lifetime and Netflix (and a few other spots), and quite a few straight ones as well. I set this to record so we can watch it at our leisure, but I’m tempted to watch it tonight.

I’ve seen a bunch of the Luke Macfarlane movies, but I think this is his first Hallmark one where he plays a gay character. I did see Peter Porte in Dashing for December, a gay Christmas movie on some odd streaming channel (Paramount?).
