Hi #Java friends, I hope to see you tomorrow in Ede at #JFall (by #NLJUG)! I'll do interviews throughout the day for the live stream and the @foojay #Podcast. And in the last slot of the day, in Room 2, my 14-year-old son and I will have fun with a piano, #Kotlin, and virtual threads!

Just came back from the #Utrecht #NLJUG meetup. @edeandrea gave an enthusiastic talk about #Quarkus. Within minutes he migrated a #Spring application by only making some changes to the pom and throwing away some now redundant Spring classes. With the same #Java code, application startup and REST calls were much faster, while the used memory was much smaller. AFAIK migration to Quarkus and from one Quarkus version to another can be automated as well via #RedHat tooling.
