Nitrocid 0.2.1 will feature a revamped codebase for utilities

Since Nitrocid was first released in 2018 as Kernel Simulator, we implemented many features that eventually made the core of the kernel in its own library and extra features as addons. This separation made sure that the core of the kernel isn’t oversized with features that aren’t part of the core kernel.

However, the codebase for some of the features, especially those that focus on code for individual commands in the base kernel and in extra addons, has begun to show its age as the kernel evolved. The code of those components wouldn’t match the style, embraces code repetition, and suffers from low maintainability.

To address such problems, we are introducing changes to Nitrocid 0.2.1 that will allow those portions to finally align with the rest of the kernel. This effort ensures that the kernel will be more maintainable than before, while increasing the quality of the simulated operating system altogether.

As a result, the kernel will be more stable, and features will start working properly again, with an even more polished experience than before.
