TIL that the two tracks "La Mer" and "Into the Void" on the NIN Album "The Fragile" actually share the same basic rhythm!
They start the same, and when the beat get layered on one of them, "Into the Void", just becomes more and more. "La Mer" OTOH just has a hauting piano, and a female voice singing something very quiet in French?
Even "La Mer" gets layers of buzzing instrumentation, but it quiets down to a simple piano again.
