When you read Orwell describing a nice cup of tea you can't fail to see whats wrong with British.
Their reality is maybe more communal than any continental nations.
But their humanity, their capacity of perception is overly limited.
That's at least my explanation for him maintaining (among other things) that the tea pot is to go to the kettle and not the other way round.
