Storm just started, which triggered motion light, the result is kinda cool.

Lightning started just after 4am. Got up and put together coffee and breakfast, "I should set up a time lapse", but sipped coffee instead. Lightning frequency increased and then *BAM* one hit out front and knocked power out. A few beats pass while distant circuit breakers cycle around and then power comes back on, a deer silhouette runs across the sudden glow from motion light. Lightning doubles down.
"Yeah, let's start that time lapse..."

There were a lot of Red Efts roaming the woods yesterday. Most of their vernal pools were long gone, even mossy wetlands were out of water, but the two days of rain was a huge boon for everything.

A gravel ride seemed ideal after all of the rain, then that progressed into something a bit sloppier, a bit more technical. At least I didn't get rained on.

Skipped the Tuesday MTB ride for a longer gravel/road outing (35mi, 56km) since we're scheduled for a few days of rain. Woods, rivers, and lakes. A couple AT hikers popped out onto the dirt road by me, hiking from Moose Mt north to Holt's Ledges.

We got out semi-early and hiked Cardigan. It's a round trip of 3.1 miles (5km) with elevation gain of 1,234 ft (376m). We had the top all to ourselves for fifteen minutes before anyone else showed up.

There’s a thunderstorm ripping through NH tonight and it’s putting on quite a light show. I’m seeing lightning every few seconds, and have been for around half an hour now. It seems like it’s been constant and it’s only a matter of time before it passes over my area.

Then maybe it’ll cool down a few degrees? That’d be nice.
