Rainy night, lost power sometime after 3am. I remember looking at clock and thinking it's too early to get up. The next time I looked it was blinking 12 something. Warm morning 66°F (19C), heading into upper 70's.

Yesterday was my first flight in a small aircraft into IMC (passenger). I can see (lol) how a VFR pilot can become instantly spatially disoriented. If I weren't looking at the artificial horizon or turn coordinator, I would swear that we were in level flight. And vice versa. Add in the cognitive load of communicating with the tower, being in an unfamiliar situation, and other possible exacerbating factors (low fuel, lost, resignation mindset), one could very well be fucked.

Also getting yawed and dropped doesn't help matters.

Otherwise it was an entertaining flight.
