@mason I feel this in my bones & work diligently to NOT use Amazon.

Here's my alternatives:
1) Buy locally from independent stores like #AceHardware
2) Online electronics from #BHPhotoStore, #Crutchfield or #staples

Maybe more questionable:

#bestbuy - improving?

Even with all this - Amazon is often the cheapest & easiest alternative for many... good luck with convincing people to not shop there.

They say the price of DDR5 RAM is rising primarily due to the massive demand for AI & data centers.
So once again AI has made buying hardware a pain in the ass, first it was GPU's & now RAM
Is all this AI stuff worth no one having good hardware🙄

Why is it so hard to find 64GB (kit of 2) #DDR4 3600MHz CL16 #RAM >:( They're almost always either CL18, or CL16 but limited to 32GB instead (also kit of 2) - which is already what I have.

There's one by #GSkill I found but only on #Newegg (which doesn't ship to Malaysia I don't think) + that has ugly RGB on it which isn't what I want at all.

Tampermonkey script: no, Newegg, I don’t freakin’ want to subscribe

Over the years I have repeatedly been tripped up by the fact that Newegg‘s checkout form has a mailing list subscribe checkbox which they randomly check by default, so if you forget to uncheck it you get subscribed. I have been subscribed to their list against my will over and over because of this. It’s frankly a mystery to me why they don’t remember when people have unsubscribed and stop resubscribing them, but I guess they think it earns them more in revenue than it drives away in pissed-off customers.

Anyway, now Tampermonkey will uncheck the box for me so I don’t have to remember.

Ok so... This is an "interesting" flipping scam. (As if I didn't have enough to worry about.)

I ordered an emergency radio from NewEgg because I am trying so hard to avoid Amazon.

It arrived today. From Amazon. As a "gift." (The product box inside was smashed, and there's a rattle, so I suspect the radio is broken even.)

The price of the radio on Amazon is $32.

I paid $59 to NewEgg.

I can return it to Amazon for an Amazon gift card. For $32.

I guess now I have a new thing to do today, which is to figure out if I can report this to NewEgg, get a refund, and get this seller pwned. NewEgg Seller = Orange Techno Store. I have no reason to believe they have any relation to the Amazon seller.

Then I have to find a different radio.

Got a replacement power cord for my previous router (I'd tossed a LOT of stuff) thinking that I could split Mother's ethernet cable from there, but it was not to be NewEgg has Ethernet splitters on offer, none of which are reviewed. So-ooo... Do I have a really long blue one lying around somewhere or nah? Do I really need two, or three, or four comptuers chugging away at all times?
