went life Yesterday! After >20 years, developed only by two brothers, one of them fighting cancer during the process. If you think Factorio is complex, check out Dwarf Fortress, simulating not only a whole world, but 1000s of years of history of it.
The free version is still maintained/developed (but without the nice graphic tile set/ui afaik).
