I recognize the pointlessness of gendering products. I also buy the pink ones because I like them and I think they're pretty. I don't think I'm hurting anyone by doing that. So maybe I should ease off of the guys who buy bars of gun-scented soap FOR MEN. 3/3

The part of this piece that stuck with me the most was pointing out the different responses we have to needlessly gendered advertising depending on the targets. We blame the marketers for making products pink but the customers for making them gunmetal, camouflage, and tacticool. 1/3
