Please do not blame #MeghanMarkle because of the photo with minister Wille #Rydman - blame the PM of Finland, Petteri Orpo - #conservative, right-wing National Coalition Party, #NCP - who decided to form a #government with a #FarRight party #TheFinnsParty, even if there were other options.
#Orpo wanted so badly to take from the poor and give to the rich, that the brand of #Finland didn't weight that much in the scale.

#Nextcloudpi 1.57.0 is out, bringing #Nextcloud 33 + some improvements.
Notably:
Manual and automatic NC updates will now check for enabled Nextcloud apps that are incompatible with the new version and abort if any are found.
This can be disabled from the #ncp web interface (under nc-update-nextcloud/nc-autoupdate-nc) and is enabled by default.The custom and outdated fork of previewgenerator has been dropped in favor of the latest upstream version.

This year, I finally made the jump from dSLR to mirrorless, retiring my Canon 6D MkIIs and 5D MkIV, and going with the Canon R6 Mk II as well as a Canon R8 as a backup body.
Lookit how cute this little pancake 28mm f2.8 is! Also got the 35mm F1.8 STM and 85mm F2 STM as my starter lenses in the RF mount. But the main tool is the Meike EF lens adapters I also bought (I got two, one with a slide in filter, the other with the Canon Control Ring built in), so I can use the best lenses I own: Sigma 35mm f1.4 ART EF, Sigma 50mm f1.4 ART, and a Canon 100mm F2.8 EF).

Short lesson from a long story.
Never, ever use a debit card in the NCP car park app - always use a credit card.
The app may arbitrarily decide your debit card has insufficient funds and then NCP will chase you for the payment even though you paid and have a receipt!
I have sorted it out, and they begrudgingly admit it's an issue.

জানি এনপিসি বিশেষ করে নাহিদ ইসলাম আমাদের তীব্র ঘৃনা করে। তারপরেও একেবারে মন থেকেই কার্টুনুস ডেইলি টিম এনসিপিকে একটি পেইন্টিং এঁকে দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়। আশা করি তাদের ১০ লাখ টাকার কিছুটা হলেও সেভ হবে।

A bit of a late night, #NCP.
Not bad for a car that’s just passed twenty years of life, right? I just had my Japanese domestic Mazda MX-5 Roadster detailed, got some minor paint correction done, and even had the A-pillar wrapped in satin black vinyl. She cleans up nicely.
Now the backstory.
I’ve wanted a British two-seater sports car for as long as I can remember. When I was sixteen, I spotted an MGB and thought, “That’s the car I’ll buy when I’m a millionaire.” A year later I saw a Fiat 124 Spider and decided, no, that’s the one. By nineteen, the Lotus Elan had stolen the crown, and I figured one day, when I finally became a real adult, that would be my car.
Fast forward a few decades. About five years ago, I started poking around at listings for old British sports cars. Asked some friends who actually know how to turn a wrench what they thought. They laughed and said, “Get a Mazda MX-5. It’s basically a Lotus Elan that actually works and won't break down.” Given that I’m useless with car repairs, that advice stayed in the forefront of my limited brain cells.
For years it was just a dream. I window-shopped, nearly pulled the trigger a couple of times, but always backed away. Then this year came along. First, I cancelled all my US business travel, which saved me about $8,500. Second, I fell down the rabbit hole of JDM imports and got hooked on the idea of a right-hand drive version to really lean into the “British” vibe.
When a 2005 Copper Red Mica model popped up at auction with a 4.5 rating, 100,000 km, and a landed price under $11k CAD, I jumped. In March, it was mine. After decades of dreaming about owning a little British sports car, I finally do.
Sure, it’s Japanese. Even better.

So got a new "focus device" for writing and researching, one that is more easily an "out and about" device. My main computer's a Macbook Air M3 15", 24gb/1tb device.
Here's the new (used) focus device. A Macbook Air M1 13" 8gb/256gb. What's most amazing about it is the price I paid: $499CDN (about $365usd). And it is in gem mint ten condition. Even the battery's in better shape than my MBA 15" (92% vs 90% on the 15" computer).
Honestly, this is a bit of a steal. The M1 chip still holds up today. I think the Jony Ive wedge design remains the most beautiful notebook computer ever. Touch ID, 16hr battery, not a single scratch or mar on this used device.

Hey you bee experts, I have a question.
A bumblebee / honeybee collective set up shop in a birdhouse we have attached to the front of our house, right by the walkway up to our front door.
Of course, I am thrilled and don't want to disturb them (we need bees!), but any danger with it being here, so close to our main walkway? Danger to delivery folks, posties, etc? Should we attempt to move it (get an expert to do so?)
Also partner asks "can we get honey from it?"

I wrote a thing about making music more personal and focused again. Smartphones have taken a lot a way from our lives (social skills, attention spans, ability to actually meet other people etc) and they've also kinda reduced our ability to enjoy really awesome sounding music, and be focused on enjoying the music without distractions.
So I went back to enjoying pure music, again.

OMFG.
Lewis AGAIN screwed by Ferrari's horrible strategy and team instructions. Was told Max was on a fast lap, then a slow lap, and was caught obviously impeding because his engineer got it wrong. Result is a 3 place grid drop. FFS.
Ferrari's been shooting themselves in the foot with strategy, planning, instructions FOR YEARS now. Such a shit show at times.

re the Dictator No.3 Formula One Race (aka Saudi GP), I love it when we get to see pissy Max.
No doubt Max is an amazing driver. That's not in dispute. But he's also a spoiled brat, thinks the rules shouldn't apply to him, and when he gets tagged, he gets all pissy and whiny about it all.
Seeing him seethe in the driver cooldown room was bril. Shame he killed the vibe on the podium celebration.
(I am not a Max fan).

An update on my mid life crisis car. Turns out, it's not a mid life crisis car, but a mid life CELEBRATION car. (there's a thread on this, over on threads: https://www.threads.net/@coffeegeeker/post/DHdf9gJRdEq)
Also did something I haven't done in 20+ years: I waxed a car. Things sure have changed tho. Last time I waxed a car it took over an hour. This time? 15 mins, including the pre-bath. Crazy! Used Hybrid Solutions' Wet Ceramic Wax spray bottle for the trick. Wash car (5 min), spray ceramic wax on wet car, a panel at a time. Wipe dry, then quick buff. That took 10 minutes, front to back.
Here's the RHD Mazda MX-5 (I still can't believe I got this for $10K CAD), a 20 year old NC model, out in Victoria's glorious sunshine today after its cleaning.
