    Prosecuting officials for #corruption in #Putin's Russia is like prosecuting Michael Cohen for breaking campaign finance laws in the USA.

    Sure, it happened. Issue is: *Why did it happen?* Who is stoking the system? Who is issuing the orders? The answers tell you who needs to go to jail.

    The people who have dared to pose such questions inside #Russia --most notably and recently #Navalny --have consistently ended up dead.

    If we don't want a society like that, we #Convict45.

  5. So four #Oscars for "All Quiet on the Western Front", one for #Navalny and none for #Ukraine. Of course, there are many possible views on this, but with the first being a #pacifist drama and the second a #documentary about a rather #dubious #Russian, I do wonder what on earth was on the jury's mind. Back to normal as soon as possible? Genocide just a spot of bother? Don't want to get used to the idea of a nation defending itself?
