Does anyone ask why #Musk wants to be the first to send people to Mars? In his interviews, he says that he wants to do it "for humanity" or whatever.

The way I see it, he wants to go just because. Perhaps he has been fascinated with the Red Planet since he was a boy and now he wants to be the first one to get there. Just like he wants to be the first to "solve" completely autonomous driving, which he hasn't yet accomplished.

Fun fact: Musk rolled xAI and his "X" social media platform (formerly Twitter, which was also failing after Musk's disastrous leveraged buyout) into one big ball because he could do that. With his mighty wealth, banks and investors have given him freedom to do major financial gymnastics despite incredible risk. They hope for grand return on their investment.

Der Moschusbock (Aromia moschata)
Dieser nach Moschus „duftende“ Bockkäfer ist der einzige Repräsentant der Gattung Aromia in Europa. Als typischer Vertreter der #Bockkäfer ist der #Moschusbock an der gestreckten Körperform (Länge 20-35 Millimeter) und den langen Fühlern gut zu erkennen. Die Körperfarbe variiert von hellgrün bis nahezu schwarz und weist einen typischen metallischen Glanz auf. Charakteristisch ist der #Moschusgeruch, den die Tiere über ein Sekret aus den Hinterbrustdrüsen absondern können.

This musk-scented longhorned beetle is the only specimen of the genus Aromia in Europe. As a typical representative of the #buck #beetles, the #muskbeetle can be easily recognized by its elongated body shape (length 20-35 millimetres) and long antennae. The body color varies from light green to almost black and has a typical metallic sheen. A characteristic feature is the #musky #odor, which the animals can excrete via a secretion from the rear mammary glands.
