If you haven't picked up their music on Bandcamp, get yourself over

  2. Today's #MirloMondays discovery is a release that combines endings and shifting fortunes with a hopeful, resilient outlook that builds over time. 🔗🐦‍⬛

  3. ICYMI: Spotify drops AI persona artists from recommendations in mid-September: Badged profiles keep streaming but lose editorial placement. Self-disclosure opened today; reviews begin with acts above set audience thresholds. Who appeals? ppc.land/spotify-drops-ai-pers #Spotify #AI #MusicRecommendations #DigitalMusic #Streaming

  4. The first #MirloMondays pick for August is just a single track, but really reflects our editorial ethos. We’ll let the artist explain:

“I am choosing to let this song exist where it can be seen, imperfect as it may be, because existing where we can be seen, imperfect as we are, is sort of the whole point.”

A hidden gem from brainfogg. Listen below.

  6. Once again asking for some music recommendations. What have you been enjoying lately?* Or have you made your own music?

*Preferably independent stuff from smaller artists but if something's like *really* good, let me know.

    :sharesloved:

Not sure if there are any agreed on tags for this, so I'll just try and put a few here:

  7. We've talked a lot about how collaboration is essential to the health of independent music. And we've made it the theme of today's #MirloMondays pick, which is a collaborative song by Escórpora & l'Acqua Frizzante, featuring songwriter Carme Vives.

Listen to "A les palpentes" on Mirlo. 🎧🐦‍⬛

  8. With an expansive sound and callbacks to the early 00s guitar music scene in the UK that wasn't afraid to wear its US influences on its sleeve, our #MirloMondays find for today is WOOED with "Trademark Changes Of Heart".

  9. I did a thing!
A music video actually. Accomplishing my new track.

    Ich und meine Fedies

In English: "Me 'n my fedies". It's a praise for all the kewl beings in the Fediverse (the "Fedies" :) ). You all make this wonderful place what it is, so therefore this track is for you :)
I was thinking about making an English version as well, but I simply cannot affort the time at the moment. Sorry about that, hope you'll like it anyway.

I mean, it's maybe the first German Language #Bonkwave track, or am I wrong? However I cannot rule out that it's in fact #noBonkwave . Not sure here.

Here is the video (Peertube exclusive btw.):

  11. i've been looping Madra Salach's EP so many times that it's now deeply engraved in my mind

i'm surprised they don't have a Bandcamp yet. but, fingers crossed, i hope these lovely people keep making music and eventually set up a Bandcamp for it

meanwhile, there's a live recording on YouTube: youtube.com/watch?v=WzdsYgj8P04

their music feels like bringing ghosts of the past, expressions, ways of looking at the world, into the harsh sun of current days

  14. One more music recommendation for Today's #bandcampfriday :

If you are in heavy weighting electronic somewhat clubby music then there is a #FediArtist among us #fedimusicians that most of you don't seem to know, and that's a bit of a shame because his music rules, and on top of it, it's often #creativecommons licensed.

So my #musicrecommendations and shouts go out to...

    @[email protected] aka Six Umbrellas.

  15. album showcase: "i felt like a sketch" by key vs. locket
key vs. locket is an indie rock project by Laura Almeida, a multi genre musician from Brazil. I have been following her for her last few projects, and she has posted under a couple other names including Twikipedia and D2LTA. I enjoy the new rock style she is exploring and her use of both English and Portuguese in her songs. It's sort of a mix between midwest emo and a bit of math rock but also takes a more minimalistic approach to the songwriting. I have listened to this album quite a bit, so it has become a record that I am fond of along with her other rock album "for the rest of your life." I am excited to see what direction she takes her next album in, and I can't think of many other artists where I have been this excited to hear their next work
