  1. re last boost from @fpianz.eurosky.social - Some #MuseTech news from #DH2026 - updates to Getty Vocabularies, possibly to be licensed as CC0 rather than ODC-BY

  2. An open map? 🗺️ Guests at @smk need help with wayfinding. We like open platforms. Wondering if @openstreetmap’s indoor mapping could be useful. Does anyone have experience to share? 🙏🤗

  3. Does AI use mean less web traffic for museums?
There are many ways to approach this, but here I've mapped the ratio of web visits at smk.dk to physical museum visits. If guests get info elsewhere, this ratio should change (i.e. fewer web visits per physical visit). I'm pretty sure that must be happening but currently the effect isn't strong enough to be clearly visible. We'll follow these numbers closely 🔎

  8. Mapping the art 🗺️
At @smk, we've mapped the motifs in artworks in the museum collection to coordinates 📍
This makes the art explorable by location (the more ways to explore, the better, in our humble opinion).
See it in action @ our online collection SMK Open: open.smk.dk/en/map?q=*#2.16/70

Footnote # 1: This replaces an earlier, less integrated setup
    Footnote # 2: We've replaced Google Maps with @openstreetmap

  9. More open: On National Gallery of Denmark's online collection 'SMK Open' (open.smk.dk/en) we're swapping out Google Maps for @openstreetmap to show artwork locations. 🗺️

  13. Useful indoor mapping... 🗺️ Museums love to talk about "wayfinding" but it often amounts to PDFs. I'm thinking we should maybe provide a wayfinding API and then build far more dynamic services. Any ideas or examples of this out there?... 🤗

  14. This will be very interesting to a very small group of people: 'For cultural institutions that provide metadata to the data space for cultural heritage, the implementation of IIIF Change Discovery provides an alternative to implementing OAI-PMH.' pro.europeana.eu/post/deliveri

  15. I wasn't surprised to see Rob Sanderson quoted in this, because rich vs aligned semantics - specifically , wanting both at the same time - is *such* a cultural heritage data interoperability problem #MuseTech

  16. *waves* at @ukmcg.bsky.social #MuseTech25 folk from #FF2025 - it'd be lovely to see more museum presentations at #FF2026 - and the #DH2026 call for proposals is still open dh2026.adho.org/cfp/ - the conference is in Korea but remote presentations are possible! #MuseTech #AI4LAM #DigitalHumanities

  19. #MuseTech folk, there's a proposal for 'exhibitions' on wikidata that could probably use your input, especially if you've ever worked on a 'what's on' site and know the complexities of exhibition data! Overview page: wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Req

  20. Fantastic welcome from SMK's Merete Sanderhoff and Jonas Heide Smith to start the Europeana Network Association Cross-Community Workshop on Culture for AI pro.europeana.eu/event/europea

  24. @jonaspelzer @mia I'm not sure what the German #MuseTech scene is like or where they might chat but you could try asking the Europeana Tech mailing list for pointers.

  25. Reading 'What can we learn from the failure of digital projects?' by @biglittlethings.bsky.social museumsassociation.org/museums
