I am on a Japanese train. (OK, built in Japan, being driven on UK Rails!). On my way home now after a week training a #Mikrotik #MTCNA to engineers at a global Maritime satellite hardware manufacturer and operator in the North East. It always still amazes me when I find out some networking gear really actually has a RouterBOARD inside it. A very large number of vessels especially Cruise ships have these in them to segregate crew traffic from passenger traffic and apply QoS and firewalling.

Completed day two of teaching my first @mikrotik #MTCNA class. It was a lot of fun, I had great students, and I’m completely exhausted. T-15h until the final day begins.
Pro tip: Indian food for lunch is not a good idea if one wants to keep a good pace in the afternoon. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s looking for a nap right now.

Really looking forward to going to Riga again in June for the #MikroTik BootCamp Training week. Within one week of registration opening we already filled two classes (#MTCEWE and #MTCSWE) which is great but it would be cool to get more students on the others like #MTCNA, #MTCSE, #MTCRE and #MTCINE. Also our #DeepDives are turning out to be popular where we will teach more about the new v7 features and the new 802.11ax(/be?) wireless CAPsMAN. http://mikrotik.camp

My job as a #MikroTik Trainer is still safe 😂. I asked #ChatGPT a question that could possibly be found in the #RouterOS v6 #MTCNA test questions pool. It’s a multiple answer question listing some various different packages as options including ‘routing’. The correct answer is that the ‘routing’ package is NOT required as static routing is already included in the system and should not therefore be selected as a package to be installed. (‘routing’ is ONLY for dynamic routing like OSPF,BGP etc)
