MicroSlop Teams wants me to know that my iPhone battery is low. The device is 7-months old, battery percentage at 69% (giggity.) Battery health is 100%. 🙄

- The malware attempts to phish the user’s system login credentials by creating a fake lock screen. It then loads a network tunneling module to enable the threat actors to log into internal and external company systems via the infected user’s machine."

I was a Webex user from their very early days in the corporate space. I always had a fine experience. Then came Zoom and its explosion during the pandemic. And most companies running to MS Teams for meetings (including mine.) Zoom wasn't as polished and was kind of obnoxious in its early usability.
When I joined our nonprofit it was a Zoom org and I grew to tolerate it but always longed for pre-pandemic Webex. A year or so ago we lost our complimentary Zoom accounts from a sponsor. Webex was a little less expensive so we went with them.
WELL. For those who haven't used Webex in a handful of years, it's as obnoxious or worse than Zoom was in its early days. I'm so disappointed. This is a great example of Cisco buying something and hanging it out to dry.

Habe ein neues #Management-Feature für #MSTeams für euch! Idee ich, Programmierung ihr, wie gehabt. Aufgepasst, wir nennen es "urgent call". Klingt ganz harmlos aber hier kommt der Kniff, sie sind kostenpflichtig (Abo oder einzeln) und öffnen beim klingeln kurz die Webcam des Angerufenen. Genial, oder? Die Datenschützer werden was fasseln von wegen #Privatsphäre bla, dabei geht es doch nur darum sehen zu wollen, ob derjenige gerade erreichbar ist.
Ach und als Bonus dachte ich an "silent urgent call", das gleiche nur noch etwas teurer und der Angerufene merkt gar nicht das er angerufen wird, seine Webcam wird nur still und heimlich aktiviert. Klingt das nicht großartig? Details wie immer dann im Nachgang via Telefon und Kontonummer knick knack verstehts schon 😉

No, MS Teams, "In öffnen Browser" is not valid German.
To save me from this in the future, I just switched Teams back to English.
I'd like to remove this workaround and do not use Teams at all but this is not possible (yet?).

Yay for #MSTeams - we have a common teams room with one of our partners. Took us ages to set it up (matrix would take 1 minute...). Now I want to share a picture. Doesn't work. Because Teams wants to use my EPFL account, and our partner doesn't have access on the EPFL Teams Sharepoint server.
So I create a directory in the shared file space, and want to send a link. Doesn't work, either.
Matrix would work in this case...

VLC, mein Pleroma-Frontend im Browser, Evolution, selbst das nächstbeste Spiel… ALLES MACHT DAS BESSER! Fast alles sogar einigermaßen richtig!
Das ist doch kein Hexenwerk!
Selbst #MSTeams von der selben Drecksbude kann Browser-Notifications! Da bekommt man 90% der Funktion geschenkt und muss sich nur noch um die Anzeige in der Seite selbst kümmern!

#MSTeams hat gerade einen ungelesen-Status an einen Besprechungs-Chat von gestern gehängt.
In diesem Chat hat NIEMAND jemals was geschrieben, nur ich selbst habe ein Bild eingefügt.
Keine Reaktionen, nichts neues seit dem Eintrag "Besprechung beendet" vor 24h - total wichtig! Dafür sollte ich eine Notification bekommen!
Ich raff echt nicht wie man so kaputte Software bauen kann?

@christophtill Thanks a bunch, Christoph, for the feedback! It takes a little time, indeed, getting used to it, but that's what I have decided to do for this entire month. To test it out for all of the Web meetings I host with different people and see how their user experience goes (and my own!) and from next month onwards it will be in full throttle, kissing good-bye to #Zoom, #MSTeams, #WebEx, etc. 👌🏻😎
