Oh, goodie, another massive data breach that stole all my important identifiers.

Anyone who's ever had a mortgage with Mr. Cooper is now at risk for ID theft and other fraud, because the leak includes SSN and bank account information.
Anyone affected should immediately start monitoring all financial accounts on a regular basis (weekly if possible) and checking credit reports on a regular basis (these are now available weekly).

Last Friday, the huge mortgage servicing company notified state and federal regulators that the recent cyber attack affected "substantially all of our current and former customers" and resulted in a leak of:
• customer names
• addresses
• dates of birth
• phone numbers
• Social Security numbers, and
• bank account numbers.👇

Mr. Cooper just spilled the beans - again.
If Mr. Cooper has ever handled your mortgage, you might remember a couple of months ago when the mortgage firm stopped taking online payments due to a cyberattack.

Do not call them, do not email them, do not reach out to them on social media.
Instead, you MUST write a letter to them, explaining the error, and you must send it to this address only:

Dallas, TX 75261-9741Send it certified mail, return receipt requested. Your mortgage is too important to skimp on postage.

Now, they have stopped accepting payments at all due to a hacking attack and data breach that has left their payment systems shut down for over a week.
The company has promised that no one will suffer from "late fees, penalties, or negative credit reporting" as a result of the attack.
If Mr. Cooper has made a mistake in handling your mortgage, a phone call WILL NOT PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS.
