Your #Tassimo is based on an STM32 + scanner from #Motorole. There is a switch button activated by closing the lid. Pointing to the chassis front, there is a sensor to detect cup presence. And finally, the pump mechanism is controlled by two connectors (red+blue), probably just PWM.
How is the Motorola scanner connected? It's 8 lines, two of which would be VCC+GND. So, SPI then, probably?
