@vij the FT retracted the word "stablecoin" and went with the more ambiguous "crypto".
but as someone who knows more about stablecoins than i ever wanted to, it makes no sense to get paid in USD stables. the US govt can just seize the underlying actual dollars from the US bank they live in (e.g. Howard Lutnick's Cantor Fitzgerald, Silicon Valley Bank, etc)
(there is one exception, so-called "old" DAI that cannot be seized by a central authority, but it was kind of phased out many years ago and has a very low market cap)
the only cryptocurrencies that are even plausible for #iran to get paid in that the US government can't seize are #bitcoin, #ethereum, and #monero /#XMR.
those are the only sufficiently decentralized "uncensorable" cryptocurrencies. no govt can can stop you from sending or receiving bitcoins as long as you have money for the txn fees

RandomX version 2.0 released https://github.com/tevador/RandomX/releases/tag/v2.0
Changes:
Program size increased from 256 to 384
CFROUND tweaked to change the rounding 16 times less often
Group F and E register mix is done using 16 AES operations (the extra 262144 AES ops come from this change)
Dataset prefetch is 2 iterations ahead instead of 1v1 hash: 4194304 VM instructions + 262144 AES = 4456448 total ops
v2 hash: 6291456 VM instructions + 524288 AES = 6815744 total ops (+52.9%) -

Tried Monero mining for fun (contributing hashrate to a pool) — earned exactly 0 XMR, but it was a great experience 😄
Mining XMR on Mac using XMRig (not Feather, since their built-in mining feature is being deprecated in an upcoming version):
brew install xmrig
xmrig \
-o pool.supportxmr.com:3333 \
-u [your wallet address] \
-p [worker name, e.g. kipjaychou-mac] \
--threads [number, my CPU has 8 threads total, I used 2] \
--coin moneroAfter ~2 hours, stats on supportxmr.com:
- Total Hashes: 1,807,915 (computed 1.8M hashes)
- Valid / Invalid Shares: 21 / 0 ✅ (21 times the pool confirmed my work was valid)
- Earnings: 0.0000 XMR (min payout is 0.1 XMR — my contributions are recorded in the pool, earnings show 0 but the contribution isn't truly zero)
- Avg Hashrate: 270.3 H/s over 2hrs (very low — roughly 0.0000047% of the total network hashrate)

试着体验了挖门罗币(为矿池贡献算力),虽然得到0XMR,但是还是体验了一下(
在Mac上挖门罗币,没用Feather,因为Feather说挖矿功能即将在新版本取消:brew install xmrig
xmrig \
-o pool.supportxmr.com:3333 \
- Total Hashes:1,807,915(计算了1,807,915 次哈希)
- Valid / Invalid Shares:21 / 0(21次成功向矿池证明了我的工作)
- 收益:0.0000 XMR(0.1XMR起提取,在矿池里积累了贡献,但是还没达到 0.1 XMR 的提取门槛,矿池记录了我的份额,收益是0,但是贡献不是真的0)
- 平均算力:270.3 H/s Avg 2 Hrs(非常低的算力,占比总网算力的0.0000047%)
