@nitpicking @compoundchem 6:02 am is the time that Masters of the Atomic Domain ‘raise a glass’ (of orange juice?) to #chemistry on #MoleDay (10/23) in the #UnitedStates.

I'm a bit late with the customary #MoleDay infographic this year, but better late than never!
In chemistry, the mole makes it easier to describe the huge numbers of atoms, molecules, or ions that participate in chemical reactions.

⚛️ Happy #MoleDay!
DYK that there’s a whole day dedicated to celebrating an incredibly significant number in chemistry?
Meet Mole Day, a unique celebration that intrigues both scientists and the curious-minded.

@sellathechemist So, *not* using Hennig Brand’s method? 😂

Today is #MoleDay, so we're sharing our latest chemistry paper in @pubs.acs.org Organic Letters. Learn how and why OIST researchers synthesized new O-incorporated 2D chiral nanographenes: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.orglett.5c03676

On #MoleDay in Middle #Tennessee this bench by the #Pollinators garden in the courtyard of the new #Science Building at #MTSU was inviting to #chemistry faculty and students, as well as over-growing golden asters and their bumblebee visitors!

🧪Happy #MoleDay !
An unofficial holiday celebrated among chemistry enthusiasts on October 23 between 6:02 a.m. and 6:02 p.m. ,making the date 6:02 10/23
This is Amedeo Avogadro's number, which is approximately 6.02×1023 (one mole (mol) of substance).
-
Chemists count atoms or molecules (in a pure substance) by weighing them, and in units of moles. We do this every day, not just on #MoleDay.
So it was a nice surprise today (October 23rd, aka Mole Day) when one of my General #Chemistry students took my jocular advice literally after I said that the relevant formula should be “tattoo number 1” for a forgetful chemist. (The henna tattoo shown is temporary.)

I heard it's #MoleDay ... am I doing it right?
We'd already planned chicken mole enchiladas for dinner tonight, but the fact that it's *actually* Mole Day today makes it even better. Of course they will have Avogadro^W avocado on top.

OMGGGGGGGG everybody, it's #MoleDay! It's the day we all celebrate Avogadro's constant, 6.022 x 10 ^ 23. It doesn't have a unit because it is itself a unit, like dozen or gross. A dozen eggs is 12, and a mole of eggs is 6.022 galactobajillion(*). Rock me, Avogadro!!
Happy Mole Day, folks!
(*) Not an actual mathematical term.

Happy #MoleDay to all Masters of the Atomic Domain and students who are studying #chemistry. Mole Day is celebrated at 6:02 on 10/23 (October 23rd) as a nod to Avogadro’s number. What is Avogadro’s number? Answer 👉 http://www.sitnews.us/MacDougall/112805_macdougall.html

Of course, there's a problem with #moleday. The number is so large that it's impossible to have a mole of things and still see the individual things. Here is what it would look like to have a mole of salt crystals. You could see it from orbit.
-
Happy #MoleDay because October 23 looks like 10^23 (and one mole is 6.022 x 10^23 things).
Here's my favorite explanation of how this value was first measured.

Happy #MoleDay fellas — celebrating Avogadro's Constant 6.02 x 10²³! :GeordieHappy:
...alright, I know it's celebrated at exactly 6:02 AM, and it's 9:02 PM here with the other quokkas on Rotto, but it's 6:02 AM on the other side of the world! :GerodieHa:
Also, it's my birthday today!! :GeordieIdea:

It's #MoleDay – celebrating the mole in chemistry which makes it easier to talk about the huge numbers of atoms, molecules or ions that participate in chemical reactions (nothing to do with the burrowing mammals). More mole material here: https://www.compoundchem.com/2014/10/23/moleday/

Happy #MoleDay to those who celebrate #chemistry during #NationalChemistryWeek and to those who are chemi-curious!
